Contact MechKit
MechKit is a small, independent, ad-supported site — there is no support desk standing by, but a real person reads everything that comes in to support@mechkit.com.
A few things this address is genuinely useful for: a calculator that gave you a result you think is wrong (say which tool — the bolt torque calculator, gear ratio calculator, belt & pulley calculator, material weight calculator, hydraulic cylinder calculator, or the thread & fastener size reference — and the values you entered); a tool you wish existed on the site; an error or unclear step in the blog, learn section, or the museum; or a bug in how a page looks or behaves on your device.
There’s no fixed response time to promise, and no ticket number or live chat — email is read and handled as it comes in. If your question is really “will this joint hold?” or “is this rig safe to lift with?”, the fastener or component manufacturer’s data sheet and a qualified engineer will serve you far better than this site can: MechKit provides general-purpose calculators and explanations, not design sign-off, and it isn’t affiliated with any tool maker or standards body.
Before writing in about a tool result, it’s worth double-checking the numbers you entered — the wrong unit (bar versus psi, mm versus cm), a grade or pitch that doesn’t match the fastener, or a mistyped value is the most common source of a surprising answer. If it still looks off after that, that’s exactly the kind of message worth sending.
